University of Kirkuk Discusses In Vitro Propagation of Blackberry Plants

The College of Agriculture discussed a master's thesis on the in vitro propagation of blackberry plants.

The thesis, presented by student Shahla Karim Muhammad, aimed to study the tissue culture of the blackberry plant. The study utilized several experiments and different types of plant growth regulators to produce abundant numbers of the plant.

The thesis concluded the success of experiments in the initiation and multiplication of vegetative growths from several plant parts (explants), the rooting of vegetative growths through various methods and experiments using auxins, the induction of callus from leaf and node parts, and the acclimatization of the resulting plantlets and their transfer from laboratory to field cultivation.
