University of Kirkuk Organizes Workshop on Hemorrhagic Fever Risks and Safety Measures

As part of its awareness campaigns to educate the community about the dangers of hemorrhagic fever, the College of Agriculture at the University of Kirkuk organized a workshop titled “Hemorrhagic Fever Risks and Safety Measures,” attended by faculty members and students.

The workshop featured a lecture by Dr. Adnan Shakoor Ahmed Al-Birkhdari, aimed at raising health awareness among participants. The session focused on:

  • - The critical risks posed by hemorrhagic fever.

  • - The need to educate the community, particularly health and veterinary workers, on prevention protocols and early health responses to infections.

  • - Strategies to improve early detection, containment, and treatment.

Recommendations from the Workshop:

  1. Strengthen collaboration between health and veterinary authorities to monitor and prevent disease spread.

  2. Train health and veterinary personnel on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment methods.

  3. Utilize audio-visual media and social media platforms to raise public awareness and promote health literacy about the disease.

The workshop underscored the importance of proactive measures to mitigate risks and safeguard public health, aligning with the university’s commitment to community-oriented scientific initiatives.
