Researchers from Kirkuk and Northern Technical Universities Publish Paper in an International Journal

A research team, composed of Assistant Professor Dr. Osamah Ibrahim Ahmed, Assistant Lecturer Mohammed Mumtaz Ibrahim, and Assistant Lecturer Rusul Mohammed Ahmed from the College of Agriculture at Kirkuk University, along with a researcher from the Northern Technical University, has published a joint scientific paper in the journal Natural and Engineering Sciences, which is indexed in the Scopus Q1 database.

The research team explained that their study was titled, "The Anatomical and Chemical Characteristics of Paulownia tomentosa Wood and the Extent of its Suitability in the Production of Pulp and Paper."

They added that the published research aimed to study the anatomical and chemical properties of Paulownia trees, which have been recently introduced to Iraq, and to determine their suitability as a raw material for the cellulosic pulp and paper industry. This plant genus is known for being fast-growing and adaptable to Iraq's environment, making it a good source of wood material that could supply various wood-based industries in Iraq, including paper
